Adam T. Katzman
Adam T. Katzman was born and raised in New York’s Catskill Mountains. He graduated in 2001 from Widener University’s Chester, Pennsylvania campus with his B.A. in Psychology and he earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware.
Adam is the founding shareholder of Katzman Law Office, P.C. a general practice firm located in Historic Creamery Village, Skippack Township. Adam is an experienced litigator. His current practice is well balanced between litigation and transactional matters. He has recently been elected as Magisterial District Judge.
Prior to becoming a lawyer Adam was a Montgomery County Adult Probation & Parole Officer for approximately 8 years. His experience provides a unique and practical understanding of the options available and the best ways to navigate the criminal justice system to yield the maximum benefit to his clients at every stage of their case. Adam also has formerly served as an Assistant Public Defender with Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office for approximately 13 years.
In private practice he has vigorously defend clients at all stages of the legal process whether they are charged with summary, misdemeanor, felony and/or murder charges. He represents clients at Preliminary Hearings, Pre-Trial Motions, Diversion Programs, Habeas Corpus Hearings, Suppression Hearings, Bench & Jury Trials, Guilty Pleas and Sentencing Hearings and Violations of Probation & Parole.
He also assists clients with a variety of other legal issues and concentrates much of his practice on Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration and Inheritance Tax matters.
Adam is committed to his family and takes an active role in his community. He served 8 1/2 years on the Board of Directors of Open Hearth, Inc., a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on helping citizens of Chester and Montgomery Counties secure housing, transportation and financial responsibility and independence. The last 3 years on the Board he served as President. He has participated in the Wills for Hero’s campaign. A project designed to assure our community’s first responders obtain vital estate planning documents at no charge. He presently serves as club counsel and Secretary on the Board of Directors of the Perkiomen Valley Soccer Club, a local non-profit organization. He has devoted many seasons to coaching area youth and fostering the development of the youth soccer program in our community. As an Eagle Scout he tries to give back to scouting more than it has given him. He serves as Scoutmaster of Troop 119 helping scouts learn valuable life skills that allow them to build strong character and prepare them in life to become good citizens.
Adam and his wife Tara reside in Montgomery County, with their three children and family dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, camping, skiing, vacationing and spending time with family and friends.
